The Boys season 3 viewership has soared on the Nielsen streaming rankings, with 919 million minutes watched in the U.S. The series holds second place, putting it right behind Netflix’s Stranger Things, which has a huge lead ahead of Amazon’s ultra-violent and raunchy superhero series with 4.2 billion minutes, a sharp drop from its record-breaking 7 billion minutes watched.

Between June 6-12, Stranger Things continued to have a stronghold even with some drops. The viewership for The Boys put it above Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey (720 million), The Lincoln Lawyer (683 million), Obi-Wan Kenobi (682 million), Peaky Blinders (635 million), Ozark (568 million), Floor Is Lava (350 million), First Kill (331 million), and a low for a Marvel series debut, Ms. Marvel (249 million).

While this is only for original content, film, and acquired properties, the viewership for The Boys still places the series at a high rank. It was bumped down by Netflix’s All American (1.1 billion) and Hustle (1.2 billion).

The Boys Viewership Proves Staying Power with Season 3

Across every category, viewership for The Boys season 3 makes it the only show to top the Nielsen charts. For movies, there is only one movie with the original 1986 Top Gun with 244 million minutes watched. Netflix dominates, giving little room to other platforms. For original shows, Apple or any other platform was not in the top 10. HBO Max was featured on acquired with Big Bang Theory (305 million) and Friends (236 million). For movies, Disney Plus came in third place with Encanto (348 million). HBO Max took fifth with Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (273 million), and Disney further down with Turning Red (198 million).

The rising viewership for The Boys season 3 has shown its steady rise as a flagship series for Amazon Prime Video. The superhero series had its animated spinoff with The Boys Presents: Diabolical. It is also making a college-themed spinoff with London Thor (Shameless), Derek Luh (Shining Vale), Asa Germann, and Shelley Conn (Bridgerton) starring.
