The “fake pass-out” act by Kimmel happened while she gave her acceptance speech on stage. Brunson had to signal him to stand up, but he didn’t move at all.
The tv host has since faced several backlashes for his act which many deem inconsiderate. Some people feel that he ruined the special moment for the award winner, while others try to understand his position. He interrupted the special moment for the actress, but she got her moment on live tv.
On Wednesday’s episode of his show, he got paid in his own coins when she interrupted his opening monologue. He had to point out that she was a little early for her interview, but she had an amazing response and clap back for him.

Jimmy Kimmel Apologizes To Quinta Brunson On His Show Following Emmys Incident
After Brunson interrupted his monologue, they settled down to trash things as fans were interested in what he had to say. The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host started off his apology to Quinta Brunson by telling her that he needs to explain the situation for more clarity.
According to him, the comedy bit was supposed to be funny, but then things went south because he had a little too much to drink. The situation led to him being dragged out of the stage while getting people upset that he stole her moment. In his words:
“That was a dumb comedy bit that we thought would be funny. I lost, and then I drank too much, and I had to be dragged out on the stage. And then people got upset. They said that I stole your moment, and maybe I did. I’m very sorry if I did do that — I’m sorry I did do that, actually.”
Jimmy Kimmel went on to apologize by stating that it was the last thing he wanted for Quinta Brunson. She accepted his apology, with Kimmel adding that he was very happy to see her take the trophy home.
