While most pocket monsters inย Pokemonย Goย simply need Candy to evolve, Spritzee and Swirlix are two Fairy-type Pokemon with special requirements. Both need 50 Candy, but they can only have their evolutions triggered under the condition, “Adventure together to evolve.” While the statement is identical for both, you’ll quickly realize that the method for each differs by interacting with the menu’s down arrow dropdown option. Accordingly, let’s discuss the requirements for both Spritzee and Swirlix toย evolve inย Pokemon Go.ย

Evolving Spritzee

First, let’s go over how to evolve Spritzee inย Pokemon Go. For Spritzee to transform into Aromatisse, you mustย use an Incense. However, simply using Incense in your inventory isn’t enough, as Spritzee must also be yourย Buddyย when the fragrance is activated.ย

  1. Go to your character screen, and tap your current Buddy.
  2. Scroll down to “SWAP BUDDIES” and find Spritzee.ย
  3. Activating an Incense with Spritzee as your Buddy will allow you to evolve it, granted you have 50 Candies available.

If you don’t have any incense, head to the in-game shop, where you can purchase one for 40 Pokecoins. A bulk of eight is also sold at 250 Pokecoins. In our case, we have been able to receive Incense as free rewards by participating in activities, such as events and GO Battle League.ย

Evolving Swirlix

Next, if you want to evolve Swirlix inย Pokemon Go, you mustย give your Buddy 25 Treats. This means that you must feed this particular Pokemon 25 Berries of any type to trigger its evolution, along with the 50 required Candy. Of course, Poffins are also viable, but we recommend using the Berry type you have an excess of. For instance, we scarcely use Nanab Berries while catching Pokemon, so we had several dozen to spare to evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff.

  1. ย Like Spritzee, head to your Trainer’s menu screen, and tap on your current Buddy.
  2. Scroll down to “SWAP BUDDIES” and search for Swirlix.ย
  3. Once Swirlix is your Buddy, feed it 25 Berries; you can see your progress in the “Adventure together to evolve” dropdown.
  4. Finally, give it 50 Candy to get Slurpuff.

Evolving Swirlix and Spritzee inย Pokemon Goย is relatively easy. Nevertheless, some Trainers might get confused with the “Adventure together to evolve” message. As of writing, the 2023 World Championships forย Pokemonย is underway, with Passimian making its debut inย Pokemon Go.
