American actor, Will Smith, had a group of star-studded friends come together for the “epic” private screening of his forthcoming movie titled, Emancipation. He took to social media to thank his guests, including Dave Chappelle, Tyler Perry, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Kenya Barris, and more. He captioned the post:
“EPIC night!! Thanx for coming to see #Emancipation. Hope ya’ll enjoyed!!”
The screening must have gone well, judging from the comment section. Barris wrote, “This night was MAGIC and your movie is truly something that will last forever!” The actor’s post of gratitude has garnered over 200k likes in just an hour.
In Will Smith’s Emancipation, for which he organized an “epic” private screening, the set was during the American Civil War. Smith’s character, Peter, was a man who tried to escape slavery and set out for freedom.
The movie was directed by Antoine Fuqua, and it’ll be the actor’s first film since the Oscars incident with Chris Rock in March. Although the actor has publicly apologized, there are still mixed reactions from several people.

Will Smith’s Private Epic Screening Of Emancipation is His First Since The Oscars
After the slap incident at the Oscars, one of the attendees of Will Smith’s epic private screening for Emancipation, Dave Chapelle, is co-headlining a comedy tour with Chris Rock. The comic, sometime in September, spoke about the ugly incident at a show in England.
Chapelle reportedly stated that the Fresh Prince of Bel Air “did an impression of a perfect man for 30 years.” Per Telegraph, the comic opined that Smith ripped his mask and showed the world that he was “ugly” just like everyone.
The incident resulted in the actor resigning from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He was also banned from attending the institution’s ceremonies for the next ten years.
Will Smith has long issued an apology before the epic private screening of Emancipation. He admitted that he was wrong and his behavior was unacceptable. The 54-year-old award-winning actor was only trying to defend his wife from Rock’s joke.
But he took it ‘too far’ by striking the comic across the face in front of a live audience. The actor has also pleaded with fans and assured them of a better version of himself going forward.
