RuPaul not only has the number 1 show on MTV thanks to RuPaul’s Drag Race but the world’s most famous drag queen’s game show on CBS has been renewed for a second season. Lingo premiered in January of this year and proved successful in the ratings. As some fans know, the current version of Lingo on CBS is a reboot. RuPaul’s Lingo was announced in early 2022.

RuPaul’s Lingo is a bit different than the previous versions of the show. Instead of being a TV form of Bingo, the new show is much more like Wordle. Like most of his duties outside Drag Race, RuPaul hosts the show out of drag. It should be noted that RuPaul’s Lingo being renewed for a second season comes only a month into the show’s run, which means CBS is excited about the response so far.

RuPaul’s Lingo may have gotten an early renewal, but CBS also announced other shows returning. CBS renewed Survivor for season 45 and The Amazing Race for its 35th season. However, these long-running shows got multiple-year renewals despite CBS not saying how many. In addition, Tough As Nails will be back for a 6th season on the network.

As for scripted television, CBS also renewed NCIS, CSI: Vegas, and NCIS: Hawai’i. In addition, the iconic CBS news magazine shows 60 Minutes and 48 Hours also got additional seasons. These shows join previously announced CBS shows coming back, such as Young Sheldon, The Equalizer, and Fire Country. CBS is still one of the top network tv channels, which means being renewed shows how much the audience is invested in a certain show.

If you’re a fan of game shows, have you watched RuPaul’s Lingo on CBS?
