Fortnite is still one of the best and most popular battle royales available, and it is just growing more popular. As each week passes, Epic Games released a series of new quests and tasks to keep the players busy with new stuff and also reward them accordingly. As part of the Oathbound quest, you will be tasked to retrieve hard drives by doing damage to Oathbound Chests, and here is how to do it in Fortnite.

How to Damage Oathbound Chests in Fortnite to Retrieve Hard Drives

After completing the first task of the Oathbound quest, which is to make contact with Rift Warden Stellan, you will be tasked to damage Oathbound Chests in order to retrieve hard drives and do it three times.

These Chests are scattered all across the map, but the confusing part of this task is how can you deal damage to a chest. In the case of Oathbound Chests, you actually can deal damage, but only if you use your pickaxe or harvesting tool.

So once you have found an Oathbound Chest in Fortnite, select your pickaxe and swing it a couple of times, and you will see a hard drive popping out of it. Collect it like every other time in the game, and you’ve retrieved your first hard drive.

You have to do these tasks two more times in order to complete the second task of the Oathbound quest in Fortnite. Once you do, you will unlock the third task out of four. Completing this task will also reward you with 20,000 XP, which is quite good.

But bear in mind that a lot of other players are also hunting these chests, so make sure you are not getting ambushed by other players and always be on your guard.
