This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Cloth is an extremely vital resource in Rust because it is used to make Bandages and Medical Syringes, making it one of the most needed resources in the game. Cloth is used not only to make these medical items but also to make clothing; without it, it is impossible to increase your armor in Rust. There are many different ways and methods to find Cloth in Rust, like recycling or setting up a Cloth Farm. In this Rust how to get Cloth guide, we will cover the best ways to get Cloth.

How to Get Cloth by Collecting Hemp Fibers

Hemp Fibers are plants that frequently appear in the game, and collecting them will give you 10 Cloth and 1 Hemp Seed if you are playing on a Vanilla server. Hemp fibers cannot be found in Snow and Desert biomes but only in Temperate, green biomes. If you live in the Desert or Snow, you can get Cloth from animals. Other than that, you can get Cloth by cutting cacti in the Desert. In the snow biome, your only other option besides animals is to build a Cloth Farm or use a Recycle Machine.

How to Get Cloth with Recycler Machine

There are a few different items in Rust where you can get a very good amount of Cloth using the Recycle Machine. These are Sewing Kit, Rope, and Tarp. These items can be found very easily anywhere by simply farming barrels.

  • Rope: You can get a total of 15 Clothes.
  • Sewing Kit: You can get a total of 40 Clothes.
  • Tarp: You can get a total of 50 Clothes.

Recycle Machines are located in every big monument and Safe Zone. If you are not recycling in the Safe Zone, be careful while recycling in other monuments because other players can kill you.

How to Get Cloth with Farming in Rust

Setting up a Cloth Farm is one of the best ways to get Cloth in Rust, but it takes a lot of work. Therefore, if you don’t like PvE content, it may not be for you. When you set up a Cloth Farm, you will have so many Clothes that you can sell them to the whole server via Vending Machines for any items you want.

To set up Cloth Farm, you need Tier 1 electrical components such as Electrical Branch, Solar Panel, and Root Combiner. In addition, you need items such as Water Pump, Sprinkler, and Fluid Switch to supply water to your farm. In addition, you need to pay attention to the genes of your Hemb Fibers to build an effective farm. The best Hemp Fiber gene in Rust is Y-Y-Y-Y-G-G.

Hunt Animals to Get Cloth in Rust

In Rust, you can get Cloth by hunting animals. Brown and Polar Bears yield 50 Clothes and are the animals that give the most clothes. If you shoot arrows at bears from too far away, they will start running away from you, making it very difficult to catch them again. So when hunting them, be careful to kill them by pulling their aggro from close by.

Trade with Other Players to Get Cloth

If other players have set up a Cloth Farm, they will sell their clothes, and you can safely buy 1,000 Clothes from Drone Stations in Outpost or Bandit for whatever the seller wants. With Drone Stations, you can send a drone from Safe Zones, which will go and pick up items from the Vending Machine of your choice and bring them to you for 20 Scrap.

And here is the Rust cloth guide.

Rust is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
