A Follow-Up Attack unleashes an additional attack on a target. After certain requirements are met for a character, the attack is triggered automatically, not requiring any extra steps from the player. This means you can’t make a character perform a Follow-Up Attack, but you would need to fulfill specific requirements.

The Characters That Perform Follow-Up Attacks in Honkai Star Rail

There are a few different characters that can perform Follow-Up Attacks. March 7th and Clara both have a Talen that counts as a Follow-Up Attack and can be used when certain requirements are met. For example, March 7th’s Girl Power Talen is automatically triggered whenever an enemy attacks a shielded ally, and she deals Ice Damage equal to 50% of her ATK on the enemy. This effect can be used twice in each turn during the battle encounter. For Clara, her Talent is triggered when she is attacked.

Another character that can perform Follow-Up Attacks is Himeko, whose requirements are for three enemies to be affected by a Weakness Break. Another is Jing Yuan, whose ability is triggered when his Lightning-Lord’s Hits stack up and is randomly released.
