After weeks of anticipation, more details have finally emerged on the upcoming Pokemon Sun and Moon.
A new trailer was released this morning. It revealed plenty of new information, including the three starters that trainers will be able to choose from at the start of the games. The three choices are Rowlet; a pudgy owl with Grass and Flying types, Litten; a fiery cat, and Poppilo; a small seal who is water type. Two new legendaries were also shown, though their names remain a mystery. The first is a white lion with a golden mane while the second was a large bat with crescent wings. Both had sections on their heads which appeared to mimic the night sky.
The name of the new region that will house these colorful creatures was also revealed. Alola is very obviously inspired by the island of Hawaii, with lots of beaches, flowered swim trunks and palm trees. The player character looks taller than in X and Y, with the arms and legs looking more realistically proportioned.
Another piece of information you get from the trailer is who will give you your first Pokemon. A large man with a bare chest and a full mustache stands on a beach and presents the three starters to you. There is also a more slender man wearing a lab coat who clearly has some relevance to the game’s story.
Finally, we learned when the new titles will hit store shelves. Both Pokemon Sun and Moon will release on November 18, 2016.
The trailer revealed a lot of new information but there is still a lot to ponder. Will the trainer customization features that first appeared in X and Y return? Who are the villains plaguing the beautiful island nation? What new features will these new titles add to the classic Pokemon formula? Hopefully, all these and more will be answered in the near future. For more
