Are you Curious about how to find Hydromelons in the vast map of Tears of the Kingdom? The Tears of the Kingdom world is abundant with all sorts of fruits, from regular apples and mighty bananas to exotic lotus seeds and this cactus fruit that — for some reason — devs decided to call Volfruit. The Hydromelons fall into the second category. These watermelon lookalikes are the perfect solution for resisting Gerudo’s otherwise unbearable heat. But first, you’ll have to make a short expedition to collect them.
How to Find Hydromelon in Tears of the Kingdom
Hydromelon grows in the arid Gerudo Desert, right on the ground. So on your next trip to the desert, keep your eyes peeled for some round, green fruit growing from the ground. You’ll usually find two or three of them growing together. However, spotting them is easier said than done, given the constant sandstorm that clouds your vision.

Your safest bet is to head to Kara Kara Bazaar. This safe area isn’t affected by the sandstorm phenomena, so you can safely look around its immediate surroundings for some Hydromelon in Tears of the Kingdom.
If you’re willing to spend some rupees, you can also look for Kara Kara Bazaar‘s general store. Right next to the inn, Emri sells up to 5 Hydromelons for 16 rupees each, which would be 80 rupees for them all.
Best Hydromelon Recipes in Tears of the Kingdom
It’s no secret that if you stay in the Gerudo desert without the proper attire for too long, Link will get dizzy from the heat and start losing hearts. One way to combat the heat is to cook some heat-resistant recipes in a cooking pot. Thanks to the fresh liquid it contains, Hydromelon has heat-resistant properties. But you won’t just earn the heat-resistant bonus effect from eating a Hydromelon alone. So, why not try out some unique recipes?
Head to the nearest cooking pot once you’ve got Hydromelons in Tears of the Kingdom. Psst, one is next to Emri’s general store in Kara Kara Bazaar! You should be fine if you mix Hydromelons with other ingredients and not monster parts. You could even cook it on its own to make a Chilly Simmered Fruit, giving you 2:30 minutes of low heat resistance.
