With this guide, you can fly through the Fire Temple in no time and make your way to the boss so that you can save Zelda. Keep reading to learn how to complete the Fire Temple in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Entering the Fire Temple
A few different things will happen as soon as you enter the Fire Temple.
- You will quickly realize that Fireproof or Fire Resistant clothing is a must. You will need it to make it through the temple.
- Yunobo will prove to be your most valuable resource within the temple. His Charge ability will clear many paths and even unlock the locks for you.
- You must keep track of where you are and where you have been. Minecart tracks are everywhere, and they can get very confusing.
Make sure you interact with the Fire Temple’s altar to make the fast travel point available and to reveal the five locks necessary to proceed.
Lock #1
From the fast travel point, you need to head to the South. Along the way, you will likely notice that there are a few hydrants sitting around.
Activate one and hold it to create a path for yourself over the lava. At the next clearing, you’ll see a minecart that is already equipped with a fan. Hop inside and power it with the fan.
Head down the track until you come near the switch. Using Yunobo’s Charge ability, hit the switch to change the direction of the tracks, then follow the track until it stops.
When you arrive at the end of this particular track, hop out and head over to the lava. Here, you will find some more hydrants lying around. Use one to create a path for Yunobo. Use Yunobo’s Charge ability to break through the large rock blocking the path.
Once you’re inside, you should see the first Fire Temple Lock. Use Yunobo’s Charge ability one more time to hit the lock, which will, in turn, light it up and unlock it.
Fire Temple Lock #2
Hop back into your minecart and hit the yellow switch to allow you to move forward. Head all the way to the end of this track, where you will find a mechanism that turns the track around. Hit that mechanism and start heading back the other way.
On your way back through, when you reach the switch on the track, use Yunobo’s Charge ability to change the direction of the tracks so that it leads to the right rather than the left. When the cart stops, you’ll see another blockade in front of you and another mechanism to switch the tracks. Hit the switch and the mechanism to go forward. Ride back to the last platform you stopped at, hop into the minecart on the left, then hit the switch there to change the track direction to go straight.
Here, you’ll find some Marbled Rock in the lava, along with some stone plates that are making their way down the lava river. Use Yunobo to break through the Marbled Rock, then use your Recall ability on the stone plates so that you can ride over to the other side safely.
Here, you’ll find the second Fire Temple lock. Hit it with Yunobo’s Charge ability once more to unlock it.
Lock #3
Head back to the minecart that you rode to the platform you are now on. However, rather than riding it back down to the last platform, use Yunobo to hit the switch, raising the track up to go to the next floor. Take out the Construct in your path, then hit the yellow switch. Be sure to pick up the Zonai Capsules here as well.
Attach a Rocket Zonai Device to your cart using Ultrahand, then head to the Southwest on the tracks, utilizing the Rocket to jump over the gap in the tracks.
When you arrive at the next platform, hop out of the minecart and take out the Construct that’s waiting there for you. Head up to the Southwest, where you can find a chest beneath two metal plates.
Pick up one of the metal plates using Ultrahand and head back over to where the broken bridge is. Using one of your Zonai Capsules, pull out a balloon and a fire emitter. Connect the two to the metal plate, like in the image above, and then ride the balloon up to the platform above.
When you arrive up top, use Yunobo’s Charge ability to hit the gong here, unlocking the third Fire Temple Lock.
Fire Temple Lock #4
Head back to the area where you picked up the rocket and other Zonai Capsules. Here, you’re going to watch to move the two mechanisms around until the track is facing straight across from you at an incline. Now, ride the minecart up to the next platform.
Hop off the minecart and begin to use Ultrahand to collect stone platforms. Using them, create a perfectly level 6 or 7 link bridge. Now move one end up to the gong and keep the other on the ground. Once it’s in place, use Yunobo’s Charge ability to roll up the bridge and unlock the fourth Fire Temple lock.
Lock #5
Now, it’s time to add to your makeshift bridge and move it over to the opposite side of the room, where you can see the broken bridge. Here, connect the makeshift bridge you just made to the landing on the other side. Next, use Yunobo’s Charge ability to break through the Marbled Rock in the way and head inside.
Hop down inside the hole here, and use Yunobo once again to hit the gong, unlocking the fifth and final lock in the Fire Temple in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
