Learning to unlock the Jeweler is essential to any Diablo game, especially Diablo 4. If you are looking for a Jeweler, there are many different gems in Diablo 4, and being able to socket them, unsocket them, and even use them to craft better gems is handy. While there are some requirements, it’s relatively easy to unlock Jewelers and be on your way to crafting all the best gems. Keep reading to learn how to unlock the Jeweler in Diablo 4.
Unlocking the Jeweler in Diablo 4
Before you begin your journey to find and talk to the Jeweler, you must first ensure you are at least level 20. The quest required will not be available to you until then. Once you reach level 20, the quest will automatically become available, and you can begin it immediately.
The quest will appear as a Priority Quest called Gem Crafting. You must speak to Kratia, the Jeweller in Kyovashad, to complete it. By now, you should already have the Waypoint for Kyovashad, so go ahead and teleport into the town. From there, you can find Kratia near the Inn.
Head inside and speak to Kratia. You should have the option to say, “Tell me about gem crafting.” Your quest will update, and you will now have a new step to complete: Craft a Gem. Crafting a gem is relatively easy and can be done with only 3 of any Crude Gem. For this quest, we used Rubies. Scroll down the list of gems the Jeweller offers until you find the one you have enough Crude Gems of to make a Chipped Gem. Then, craft the gem using the button at the bottom of the screen. For us on PC, we had to use the left mouse button.
Crafting will cost some coins, so make sure you have some Gold saved up. The cost to craft a Chipped Ruby is 4,500 Gold. It’s always smart to save up some resources and Gold before heading to any crafting station within Diablo 4, as things can be a bit pricey.
Before you leave the Jeweller, you can explore a few different options there. You can craft gems, remove sockets from existing armor, add sockets to armor, and even upgrade your jewelry. Removing sockets costs nearly nothing, while adding sockets will require you to have a Scattered Prism. Upgrading jewelry costs some Gold in addition to specific crafting materials. The first upgrade only costs Iron Chucks, but higher upgrades require more materials, like Silver Ore.
