Want to know how crowd control works and what exactly is it in Diablo 4? Crowd Control is a unique mechanic that will greatly help your character in combat and save time. Crowd Control, also known as CC, will appear in most fights, and you may not fully understand what’s going on. Luckily, we will break down in detail what this mechanic is for and how to use it.
What is Crowd Control?
Crowd Control is a temporary debuff you can use on enemies. Once used against enemies, you’ll slow, root, or stun them for a while. Some classes have skills with special CC abilities in Diablo 4. These effects prevent the enemy from moving, attacking, or casting spells, that is, playing normally. You can also apply Crowd Control to an enemy while they are casting a spell, canceling their action. Also, note that enemies can also apply Crowd Control effects to you.
All Crowd Control Effects in Diablo 4
Most classes have some Crowd Control skills that will neutralize enemies in Diablo 4. Some will disable the enemy completely, while others will only restrict or slow their movement. Crowd Control debuff duration varies from skill to skill. Here are all the skills with Crowd Control effects in Diablo 4:
- Stun: Completely disables your enemies, making them unable to move and attack.
- Slow: Your enemy’s movement speed is slowed for a while.
- Daze: Prevents your enemies from attacking and casting spells for a while.
- Knockdown: Knock down enemies to the ground, rendering them ineffective and incapable of attacking.
- Knockback: Pushes enemies away from you.
- Fear: Enemies will run away from you in fear.
- Tether: Traps enemies in an area, keeping them imprisoned there for a while.
- Immobilize: Stop an enemy in its tracks.
- Chill: Slows down enemy movement.
- Frozen: Completely freezes and disables enemies if they are Chilled enough.
How to Use Crowd Control Effects in Diablo 4
To use Crowd Control effects on enemies, you only need to click on the skill and apply it to the enemy. You’ll need to assign these skills to your skill bar from your Skill Tree. Since most of these skills have long cooldowns, you should use them wisely. Crowd Control debuffs will deactivate the enemy for a while, giving you a lot of edge in tough boss fights. That’s why it’s best to save these debuffs until the right time. Before enemies inflict burst damage, you can secure yourself by stunning them.
