Want to know how to get and use Snow Yam in Stardew Valley? In addition to the common plants that you can grow from seeds, there are some that you can’t just get on a farm. These plants are called wild plants, such as fruits, berries, or mushrooms. Instead of growing these plants, you also can find them. However, all wild plants are seasonal and grow in different locations. Some you can get from bushes, and some lie on the road. But if you need Snow Yam in Stardew Valley, you have to dig.
Where to Find Snow Yam in Stardew Valley
Snow Yam is a wild plant that you can only find in winter. But despite this, there are two ways to obtain this it:
- As mentioned earlier, you can get Snow Yam by digging it out of the snow using any hoe, but the dropping chance is low. The best chance of finding it is to look for this plant in the Artifact Spot. But you can find it in the Desert a little less often, though.
- Besides digging, there is another way to get Snow Yam by growing it from Winter Seeds. You can harvest a ripe crop without using tools. And you can get better plants by leveling up your Gatherer and Botanist professions. In addition, unlike the first method, this one will bring you some Foraging XP.
How to Use Snow Yam in Stardew Valley
Snow Yam does not have many uses. But still, at certain stages of the gameplay, you can use this plant in one of the following ways:
- You can use Snow Yam as a gift for Harvey, Leah, and Linus NPCs. But for other residents, you should look for something else.
- Also, this plant is used to craft Winter Seeds. You will need Crocus 1x, Crystal Fruit 1x, Snow Yam 1x, and 1x Winter Root.
- Snow Yam is also used to create light blue Shirt.
- In addition, by visiting the Crafts Room, you can use Snow Yam for the Winter Foraging Bundle.
- Finally, this plant is needed for the winter quest. You can accept this quest on the “Help Wanted” board near Pierre’s shop. And as a reward for this quest, you will receive 300g and 150 Friendship points.
