Favoriting your items in Terraria will make your job much easier because doing so will mean they remain in your inventory when you automatically transfer items such as weapons and tools from your inventory to a chest. It also means that if your inventory is full of junk, you won’t accidentally destroy your favorite items using Quick Thrown or Quick Trash options. So, let’s explain how to favorite your items in Terraria.

Given that each platform has different controls, the process is slightly different for each. Let’s break it down.

On the computer, you should use the ALT + Left Mouse Click combination to favorite your items.

  • First, open your inventory.
  • Then hold down the ALT key, and Left-Click on the item you want to favorite.
  • You can tell that you have favorited the item by its changing frame.

There is no item favoriting mechanic in the Xbox, and PlayStation versions of Terraria. But instead, you can assign any item you want to Hotkey. To do this, you can follow the steps below.

PlayStation:

  • Then select the item you want to add to the Terraria Hotkey.
  • After that, select where you want to put this item on the D-Pad.

Xbox:

  • Open your inventory, and press the Y button.
  • Select your item, just like on PlayStation, and choose where you want to assign it.

Nintendo Switch:

Mobile

  • This feature is not yet available for the mobile version of Terraria.
