Beating the Mother Mind in Remnant 2 is no small feat. As the first major boss in the game, it will feel daunting to players who enter her arena unprepared! However, conquering her is vital to the progression of the game, so there is no choice but to push forward. That being said, there are still strategies and methods that you can utilize to make your job just a bit easier. This guide will provide straightforward directions on how to beat the Mother Mind in Remnant 2.
The Boss’s Move Set
Mother Mind can be found early in Yaesha, at the tail end of the Nameless Nest. Before entering the boss room, players need to have a proper grasp on her move-set. The first of the Mother Mind’s attacks is a vertical swipe, where she will bring her claws down directly on top of the player. This attack is usually accompanied by a second, identical slash with her second arm. Roll sideways just before her claws strike the ground for an easy dodge.
The Mother Mind’s second move is a flurry of horizontal attacks. This can easily be avoided by backing up against the arena wall, as her range here is quite limited.
Finally, the boss’s third attack causes her to spew red acid all over the arena. This acid will remain intact where it lands and can absolutely drain the player’s health. Avoid stepping in these puddles at all costs, or it will be nearly impossible to beat the Mother Mind.
Throughout this whole ordeal, players should be aiming for Mother Mind’s red cross in the middle of her face. This is where critical hits are the most common, and maximum damage can be applied. Just don’t get so preoccupied with firing that you forgot to avoid her attacks, as she has massive damage output.
A quarter of the way into her health bar, the Mother Mind is going to become immune to all damage. As soon as you see this happen, immediately sprint counter-clockwise onto the next platform. This is to circumvent an early death, as once she becomes resistant, she will destroy whatever platform you were standing on! She will also spawn some minions that should be dealt with asap, as they can pose quite a hazard.
Other than that, there is very little variation in how the Mother Mind moves and attacks. With a bit of trial and error, you should be celebrating her death in no time.
