This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

While playing Baldur’s Gate 3, you will have a lot of journeys and battles, during which you will lose a significant part of your health and spells. The best way to recover is to visit a camp where you can rest. That’s why we’ve created this guide about how to camp in Baldur’s Gate 3, wherein you can learn about all the aspects of it, including how to return, leave, and rest. Camp is a very important part of the game, so you need to know everything about it.

How Does Your Camp Work?

As we mentioned above, camp is an essential part of your adventures. You will need to visit this place often so that you and your companions can regenerate spells and health. In addition to the main purpose of the camp, you can also use it as a way to interact with your companions to get new quests and tasks. You can also change the basic composition of your team by inviting new members or kicking out current members.

You don’t have to do anything difficult to get back to camp; it’s very simple. Take a close look at the interface, and in the lower right corner, you will notice an icon with a campfire. Click on it and you can fast travel to your camp. Now that you are in the camp, you can complete all the necessary tasks or rest.

When you’re done, you’ll probably want to leave this location and the method is the same as when you return there. You will need to use fast travel, and now you can return to the location you came from or select another location of your choice.

How To Rest

The game has two types of rest that you can utilize, namely:

  1. Short Rest: This is the first option for rest, which does not require any resources and takes only 15 minutes. Using short rest, you will only be able to regenerate only half of your health. To take a short rest, click on the closed eye icon, which will be the 4th among the others below the mini-map.
  2. Long Rest: This method differs significantly from the previous one and is more efficient, but also more costly. To take a long rest, you will need to be in a camp. The next step is to interact with Bedroll, so you can open the appropriate menu and spend 40 supplies to take a long rest. When you do this, you will skip one day in the game, but you will also restore all your health as well as all spells and features that have a cooldown. Keep track of your supplies and remember to refill them to be able to use this feature.
