Want to know how to use Mage Hand in Baldur’s Gate 3? The long-awaited continuation of the Baldur’s Gate series is finally here, offering players to enjoy D&D 5E gameplay. This version of D&D is the most comfortable and easy to learn. So even those who have never played this tabletop RPG will quickly get used to the D20 system, learn about the best combinations of class and race, and understand why dividing a group for a long time is not the best solution. In addition, one of the strengths of Baldur’s Gate 3 is the vast library of variable spells for different classes, and Mage Hand is one of them.

First, it is worth noting that Baldur’s Gate 3 follows D&D 5E in almost everything. So Mage Hand spell, like any other spell, is only available to certain classes or archetypes in the game. And you will only be able to use this spell by playing as the following characters:

  • Bard (College of Lore and College of Valour)
  • Warlock
  • Wizard
  • Sorcerer
  • Eldritch Knight

But this is only a general list. Also, this spell may be available to Rogue with the Arcane Trickster archetype (but we have not yet been able to test this in practice). In addition, any of your characters can multiclassing into one of the above-listed classes at higher levels. Thus, any class abilities like Mage Hand can be available to your character if your build requires it and stats allow it.

As for the Mage Hand effect, it’s a Conjuration School utility spell that requires an Action to cast. The maximum range of this spell is only 18 meters, but this is more than enough. With the Mage Hand spell, you summon an invisible hand that can manipulate small objects, attack enemies, apply status effects, and more. This spell is used in combat rarely, but this is only partially true if you use it wisely.

Baldur’s Gate 3: How To Use Mage Hand Spell

To use Mage Hand Baldur’s Gate 3, select this spell from the hot bar and choose one of the many ways to use this hand. As we said earlier, this spell requires Action and Concentration. Thus, it is not very effective in combat. But is everything so clearly?

Although dividing the group is not a good idea, one Bard hiding in the bushes before the battle can cause harm to any enemy using Mage Hand. Being in Stealth, it will not participate in the fight and can safely use Mage Hand. When you use this spell, you summon an invisible hand, and enemies engrossed in battle won’t notice it. You can drop a stone on the enemy’s head, steal something from his pocket, or prevent him from attacking, thereby supporting your team.

If you use this spell out of combat, you can still get items from places your character can’t reach or do any simple and subtle action. We only give you a couple of tips. But everything else is in your magical hands.
