If you want to know how to get and use silver ingots in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ve come to the right place! Here, we’ll discuss all the available sources to obtain this item in the game. Also, you’ll learn about all the possible ways you can use silver ingots in BG3 for both fighting and farming purposes. So, without further ado, let’s get into it!

Where To Find Silver Ingots in BG3

There are two main ways you can use to get them:

Killing Enemies

After a fight, just search the bodies of fallen enemies to get silver ingots. They won’t drop from every single enemy, so we recommend checking each corpse that comes your way.

Chests and Crates

You’ll have a much better chance of getting silver ingots if you loot crates and chests. During your adventures, you will come across many chests. Like corpses, you need to check each of them. Be careful because you may find yourself in a situation where you can steal items, and in this case, the text will be highlighted in red. If you are confident in your abilities and luck and can steal them without any problems, then do it. Otherwise, prepare for prison time or a fight.

Now let’s move on to what they are used for.

How To Use Baldur’s Gate 3 Silver Ingots

There are three types of ingots in the game:

  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Bronze

Gold is the best, but each type of ingot serves one purpose: ingots can be sold for gold. They serve as a solid source of income because, for every silver bar, you get 50 gold bars. If you find a gold bar, its price will be 100; for a bronze bar, you will get 20.

Avoid hoarding ingots in the early game. Instead, sell them and earn money to buy new weapons and armor. Considering that metal bars weigh quite a lot, it makes no sense to carry them around all the time. As soon as you see a vendor, take the opportunity to sell them.

In addition to the above, you can also use ingots to throw them, like any other item in the game. If you ever find yourself in a situation where a silver ingot is the only junk you have to trigger a trap, you can use it.
