Want to know how to get and use Divine Intervention in Baldur’s Gate 3? Following the rules of D&D 5E, Baldur’s Gate 3 offers players not only a non-linear story but also an extensive spell library for each class. So, as you progress through the story, you will unlock a lot of abilities and be able to create the best builds. But some spells are so rare and powerful that not everyone knows how to get them, and Divine Intervention is one of them. Thanks to this spell, you can ask your god for help, and if that’s what you need, we’re here to tell you how to get and use Divine Intervention in BG3.

To unlock Divine Intervention in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must reach level 10 as a Cleric. You will automatically receive this spell as a class feature at the 10 level. So you don’t have to prepare this spell if you decide to use it.
There are currently three options for how you can get Divine Intervention as a Cleric in BG3:

  • You have Shadowheart in your group, the only Cleric character.
  • Your character is a Cleric.
  • Your character or any other team member will become a Cleric through the multiclassing system.

How To Use Divine Intervention in Baldur’s Gate 3

First of all, it is worth noting that Divine Intervention is a one-time spell. Using this skill, you ask your god to help you, and the effect of this spell is many times greater than most other spells. But you can only use it once per 1 Cleric, after which it will permanently disappear from your Spell Book.

As for the Divine Intervention effect, you can only choose one of the four available effects:

  • Arm Thy Servant. You permanently gain the legendary Devotee’s Mace weapon.
  • Golden Generosity. You get a large number of different potions and camp supplies for free.
  • Opulent Revival. This option allows you to resurrect all your allies with half health. In addition, live characters will restore health.
  • Sunder the Heretical. You deal up to 80 radiant damage to all nearby enemies.

Although many will be upset that this is a one-time spell, all options are helpful and can save you in the most dangerous battles. If your team has lost all their supplies, Golden Generosity will help fix it. Almost your entire team died during the boss fight? Use the Opulent Revival, and you can continue the fight at full strength. At the same time, Sunder the Heretical will help you defeat or weaken many enemies.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the Arm Thy Servant, which is the only way to receive a permanent reward from Divine Intervention. This spell version will give you a powerful Devotee’s Mace weapon with 1d6+6 bludgeoning damage and +1d8 radiant damage. In addition, this weapon will reward you with a Healing Incense Aura class action that heals you and your allies at the start of your turn.
