Genshin Impact Version 4.0 will introduce Fontaine, the long-awaited Hydro region of Teyvat. When it comes to new patches, players are drawn back to Genshin to see new content and characters. With such a quick patch cycle, it never takes long for players to be without something fresh in the Teyvat. However, each major version often takes much longer than your usual Genshin Impact patch. Now, after almost a year, Version 4.0 is just around the corner with heaps of new content. Let’s go over some of the best things to look forward to in Genshin Impact 4.0.
Genshin 4.0 Introduces The Fontaine Region
As is customary with every major patch cycle of Genshin Impact, a new region is coming to the game. While 3.0 provided players with the jungles and deserts of the Sumeru region, 4.0 will add the massive nation of Fontaine. This region is home to the Hydro Archon and will be heavily tied to the Hydro element. Of course, this will also provide a huge new expansion to the game’s open world. On top of this, there is a new exploration mechanic that will allow players to dive underwater. This gives players a whole new world beneath the sea to discover in Genshin Impact.
New Characters And Banners Provide Tons Of New Genshin Impact Content
One of the greatest things that a new Genshin Impact patch can bring is new characters. Although new characters are introduced all the time, the start of a major patch cycle introduces tons of new playable individuals for your party. HoYoverse has already shown off a good chunk of these characters in a reveal trailer. Genshin Impact 4.0 has yet to provide a ton of information on these characters. However, it’ll be fun to discover more about them as the story progresses. For 4.0, Lyney and Lynette will be in the first banner of the patch.
The Traveler Will Receive A Hydro Form
One interesting aspect that sets the Traveler of Genshin apart from others is their ability to swap elements. Since each elemental power is tied to a region, the Traveler must visit the nation to attune to its signature element. So far, only the Anemo, Geo, Electro, and Dendro versions of the Traveler exist. Not much is known about the Hydro Traveler currently. However, being a Hydro character, they should pair well with Cryo and Dendro characters. With the last region being Sumeru, players hopefully have a good number of Dendro characters to use alongside Genshin Impact 4.0’s new content.
Genshin Impact 4.0 Events Gives More New Content
Genshin Impact events are a great way to continuously capture players’ interest. By introducing a new region, underwater exploration, rewards, and more, players will return to Genshin Impact 4.0. Many of the events that have been announced already look like a lot of fun. Additionally, they seem to take advantage of the new mechanics that Version 4.0 provides. First, Mega Meka Melee will provide underwater parkour and exploration, as well as some other smaller minigames. Next, Verdict of Blades will be a classic combat event. Finally, Relic Records: Creations of the Hydro Nation and Studies in Light and Shadow: A Fontaine of Enchantment are familiar events with a Fontaine region twist.
New Artifact Sets Will Be Great For New Builds
Finally, new Artifact sets are something that players should keep an eye out for in every new region. When a new map is added, like Genshin Impact 4.0’s Fontaine region, new Domains will be added as well. These mini-dungeons will allow players to complete them repeatedly for various rewards. Most of the time, these rewards are Artifacts that can be used as equipment for characters. Each new set will provide a unique buff that can be hugely beneficial to some characters. Hopefully, these new Artifacts will be a perfect new content addition to Genshin Impact 4.0.
