Since the Season of the Witch dropped, we’ve all been eagerly awaiting the release of the Destiny 2 Necrochasm Exotic weapon to learn how to get it. We can get the newest Exotic weapon Destiny 2 has to offer and take part in the heavily anticipated Destiny Crota’s End raid. Coincidentally, obtaining the Necrochasm weapon involved completing the Crota’s End raid, so let’s jump right in and learn how to get the Necrochasm Exotic weapon in Destiny 2.

How To Get the Necrochasm from Crota’s End in Destiny 2

Obtaining the Necrochasm Exotic weapon in Destiny 2 is relatively simple:

  1. Head over to the Raid Vendor during the 48-hour Contest Mode in the Crota’s End raid.
  2. Obtain the Bottomless Pit quest.
    1. This won’t require any in-game currency to purchase.
  3. Complete Crota’s Raid during its 48-hour Contest Mode

Completing the raid during its Contest Mode will automatically complete the Bottomless Pit quest, mark it as complete, and immediately give you all the rewards. The rewards you obtain will be:

  • Husk of the Pit
  • Eidolon Ally
  • Fully Masterworked Necrochasm

If you don’t complete the Bottomless Pit quest during Crota’s End’s 48-hour Contest Mode, other options remain, so don’t worry. When you complete Raid Encounters and Triumphs, you can acquire Essence of the Oversoul. To complete the Bottomless Pit and the Necrochasm’s catalyst objective, you will need the Essence of the Oversoul, so keep that in mind.

However, suppose you complete Crota’s End during the 48-hour contest mode. In that case, you will obtain the Necrochasm in Destiny 2 and get 20 Essence of Oversouls toward the 35 Essence requirement to get the catalyst for the new Exotic weapon. This will be the case whether you collect any Essence of Oversouls or not. However, if you acquired any Essence of Oversouls during the Contest Mode, you will still be able to keep them after the Contest Mode has ended, and all of them will count toward your catalyst progress.

If you get a late start and don’t get to participate in the 48-hour Contest Mode or obtain the Bottomless Pit quest after it’s over, you can still get the weapon but it will take time. You will still need to complete the quest and all of its steps to get Necrochasm, the Eidolon Ally, and complete the Husk of the Pit quest in Destiny 2.

She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
