Like in Fallout games, collecting Magazines in Starfield will give your character various passive buffs and unlockables. From bonus sneak attack damage to unlocking new Food and Chem recipes. Collecting 20 of them will also unlock the Thirst for Knowledge Achievement. However, it’s like searching for a needle in a haystack for the galaxy is a vast place to explore.
