Cross-platform support has been long overdue in the NBA 2K franchise. With many sports game franchises starting to include cross-platform, making it one of the main selling points, in addition to improved gameplay and graphics, 2K Games will need to step up their own work. With that said, in the previous releases, NBA 2K hasn’t featured any type of cross-platform which has left fans devasted, unavailable to match and up and play with players from different platforms. Fans are eager to see this modern feature implemented in their beloved sports game franchise. So, is NBA 2K24 Cross-Platform, and can you crossplay on PC?

Does NBA 2K24 Support Cross-Platform?

We have some good and some bad news for all the fans out there. NBA 2K24 is cross-platform enabled, but only to a certain point. Cross-platform multiplayer in NBA 2K24 works only for those who play on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. These will be able to match against or play together in every game mode that supports multiplayer. All they need is an NBA 2K account and an operating console account. NBA 2K celebrates its 25th anniversary, and the cross-platform seems like a nice update to the beloved game, despite not being fully supported.

Unfortunately, the NBA 2K24 version for PC players and old-gen consoles, including PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch isn’t cross-platform enabled.

NBA 2K24 CrossPlay PC Explained

If you are wondering why you can’t crossplay on PC, this is because the NBA 2K24 PC port is the last-gen game, the same version on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Players on these platforms will only be able to play between themselves and won’t mix with current-gen systems.

The crossplay limitation in the latest NBA 2K comes as a slight disappointment for all of those on these platforms, especially for PC players who have expected the next-gen version of the illustrious NBA 2K franchise. Nevertheless, this is still a step in the right direction over previous installments.
