Dragon Krystals are the premium currency in Mortal Kombat 1. You can use this currency to unlock premium skins, gear, and Easy Fatality Tokens. As a result, Dragon Krystals are valuable resources that you shouldn’t spend lightly. Many high-end cosmetics and items are locked away behind purchases using Krystals. As a premium currency, the primary way to get the Krystals is by buying them with real-world money. But is there a way to get Dragon Krystals for free in Mortal Kombat 1?

What Are Dragon Crystals Used For?

Premium Skins

You can unlock most alternate skins through normal gameplay, but the premium skins are behind a paywall. Alternate Skins will give your fighters a new look based on a theme or classic appearance.

Gear

Mortal Kombat 1 introduced new effects and abilities that change the way your characters interact with their opponent and environment. You can equip your fighters with unique gear to give them new abilities or effects. Most equipment can be unlocked through gameplay, completing challenges, or reaching milestones. Yet Krystals can also be used to acquire them.

Easy Fatality Tokens

Traditionally, to perform a Fatality, you press a series of button inputs correctly within a short period after winning a match. Many players have had difficulty performing Fatalities, so the developers introduced Easy Fatality Tokens. Spending one of these tokens at the end of a match will automatically perform a Fatality. MK1‘s premium currency can be used to stock up on tokens in the game’s shop.
