Spooky season is going at full speed this year. A24 and AMC have announced the Thrills & Chills Film Series, a weekly schedule of A24 horror movies coming to the theater chain. You will be able to see some of the indie film studio’s scariest and most popular films. The returning A24 horror movies for AMC’s Thrills & Chills Film Series are coming every Wednesday throughout October in U.S. AMC locations.
Shriek in AMC Theaters as You Watch Hit A24 Horror Movies for Thrills & Chills Film Series
Purchasing a ticket will give you a chance to watch or rewatch the film on the big screen and a free month trial to AAA24, the studio’s subscription service. The films are The Witch (October 4), X (October 11), Under the Skin (October 18), and the extended cut of Midsommar (October 25).
Each offering of the A24 horror movies caters to the tastes of all kinds of fans, giving you enough choice to find something that will hopefully satisfy your lust to be scared. The Witch delivers a horrific folk horror film that is the directorial debut of Robert Eggers (The Northman) and the acting debut on the big screen for a young Anya Taylor-Joy. X is for gore-hungry fans or people who are currently obsessed with Scream Queens, Mia Goth and Jenna Ortega. Under the Skin gets into the more eerie, obtuse area of the genre with Scarlett Johansson as a seductive alien. Midsommar was Ari Aster’s follow-up to Hereditary with a vibrant yet disturbing story about a breakup and a Swedish cult. Midsommar was also one of the films that led to the dominant rise of Florence Pugh, who delivered a career-defining performance.
AAA24 is a subscription service for the biggest fans of the indie film studio behind Everything Everywhere All at Once, Hereditary, and other indie darlings. For $5 a month or $55 a year, you get exclusive merchandise, magazines four times a year, discounts, the all-access app, and more. As we go toward the AMC Thrills & Chills Film Series, this will come in handy as you watch some fan-favorite A24 horror movies.
In recent years, A24 has become a dominant force in the indie film scene, particularly when it comes to its horror movies. Films like The Witch and Under the Skin attracted a smaller but vocal audience. By the time Midsommar and X rolled around, the studio received a greater reception. Now, with recent hits like Talk to Me, the studio continues to show the world its magic in delivering original horror stories.
