Counter-Strike fans everywhere were ecstatic to learn that a sequel to their beloved FPS would be arriving this year. That same enthusiasm would later be dashed as months passed without a word from Valve. Regardless, many eager players have held onto their hopes that someday, even the slightest hint would reveal when this highly anticipated sequel comes out. That day has finally come, as six months after the original announcement, Counter-Strike 2 is releasing this month. However, this is currently only speculation based on a cryptic clue from the official CS2 Twitter account. But hey, it certainly has us convinced!
Counter-Strike 2 Release Date Teased
It’s a question nobody on Earth was wondering but is now on everybody’s mind. “What are you doing next Wednesday?”.
Valve posed the inquiry earlier today, and the implications here are pretty clear — Counter-Strike 2 is currently slated for a release date of next Wednesday. Pulling out a calendar, we can see that the date is September 27.
If you were wondering whether or not folks were excited for this game, the tweet says it all. 4.1 million views and 8,000+ retweets is nothing to scoff at! Even TimTheTatman, one of YouTube’s most popular streamers, took to the comment section to express his excitement.
Valve neglected to give us any further information here. No follow-up comments, accompanying videos, or even company statements. Aside from today’s big reveal, the last update we received on the state of Counter-Strike 2‘s release date was on March 22, when Valve posted a series of videos and a Summer 2023 release date. Hopefully, this time around, everything goes according to plan.
