Genshin Impact started introducing alternative outfits since version 1.6 in the year 2021. The first characters to receive this change were Jean and Barbara. Since then, HoYoverse has been working on bringing clothing changes to other characters little by little. So far, Klee and Keya were the last to receive a makeover in Sumeru during version 3.8. But leaks mention that for Genshin Impact version 4.4, characters will get new skins like Ganyu.
Genshin Impact Could be Working on Ganyu and Xingqiu Skins for version 4.4
Earlier leaks suggested that the next characters to receive new clothes would be Amber or Qiqi as the 4-stars. But the 5-star who will also get a skin would be Zhongli, like the first Archon with an alternate style. Genshin Impact developers usually release a skin for a 4-star character and a skin for a 5-star character together. This new information now mentions that HoYoverse might be working on a skin for Ganyu and another for Xingqiu for the 4.4 version of Genshin Impact. It is not assured that the Geo Archon skin will be canceled or something similar, but rather that it may still be coming to the game sometime in the future.

These skins don’t add to a different gameplay or change the characters’ stats; they are just a simple cosmetic. In the past, “other styles” were also obtained for Amber, Mona, Rosaria, and Jean due to censorship issues in China. While in the West, both versions of all of them can be used in the game. What kind of clothing or why these characters will have a new look is still unknown. But fans are already waiting for an event where they can get the 4-star character skin for free.
