Return to Moria has many secrets in the game, and one of those is its Great Forges. These enormous places allow players to craft some of the game’s rarest items and even replace their tools with better ones. Before you attempt to use them, though, there are a few steps you must follow. So, if you’re struggling to see how to fix and reignite one of the Great Forges in Lords of the Ring: Return to Moria, this guide should help.
Where to Find the Great Forge in Return to Moria
While progressing through the main story, you’ll find a few places you can’t visit quite yet. For that, Aric, The Raven of Erebor, will recommend finding and reigniting a Great Forge. This can be a bit confusing and daunting due to the game’s random nature in its maps. However, here are a few tips to find it:
- The Great Forge is usually in the game’s second area, where you must enter the Mines of Moria.
- You might find the Great Forge guarded by Goblins or other creatures.
One piece of advice we have for everyone is hugging the walls of the area where you’re at and looking for a big entrance. In our case, the entrance was close to the wall we couldn’t break, which means it might be the case for many.
How to Fix the Great Forge
If you’ve found the Great Forge in Return to Moria, it is time to fix it and ignite it. You’ll notice that it’ll say it’s damaged whenever you try to approach the Forge. If you go to the center of it, it’ll say it’s cold. To fix it, you’ll need to find three pieces scattered around the area, at least for the first Great Forge. Here are the pieces and the steps you must follow:
- Replacement Pipe
- Replacement Gear
- Replacement Crank
To find these parts, you must look inside and outside the room where the Great Forge is. For us, two of the pieces were inside, and one was outside next to a Goblin camp. Most are heavy, which means you’ll carry them with both hands and won’t be able to use your items. Clear the area first before collecting them. After that, here’s how to install them:
- Find the parts inside the area.
- Look for the golden glow in the Great Forge, which shows where the part should go.
- Carry the corresponding part to the golden area and place it.
- After all three pieces are put together, the Forge will start by itself.
You must be careful because a horde will attack you when the Great Forge starts again in Return to Moria. Most Goblins die with one hit, but they’ll swarm you quickly.
