Gamers everywhere, brace yourself, the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie is finally here. Based on the hit horror game franchise of the same name, Five Nights at Freddy’s was directed by Emma Tammi and stars Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games, Bridge to Terabithia) as Mike Schmidt. Mike is the newest night guard of Freddy Fazbear’s, an abandoned children’s restaurant with animatronics. If the jump scares weren’t enough for you, you might be wondering whether the film has any scenes after the credits to get you for one last scare. So, let’s take a look at if Five Nights at Freddy’s has any post-credit scenes.
Is There a Post-Credits Scene at the End of Five Nights at Freddy’s?
Don’t rush off to the bathroom quite yet, as Five Nights at Freddy’s does have a post-credits scene. The scene itself is fairly close to the beginning of the credits, and it’s a continuation of a scene from earlier in the movie. It’s more of a joke stinger, letting you know what happened to one of the characters in the movie rather than setting up a sequel. It’s also worth mentioning that there is an end-credits stinger, but it is purely audio running over the last moments of the credits, not a full scene.
In case you want to know exactly what the post-credits stingers were without having to sit through the credits, we will go through them with full spoilers, but without going over the movie’s ending. So, if you don’t want to know what the post-credits scenes of Five Nights at Freddy’s are, turn back now. The first post-credits scene features YouTuber CoryxKenshin, in his role as a taxi driver, which you can see in the trailer above. After hearing a knock at his car door, he tells whoever it is to go away as he is assumingly off duty.
He turns to face whoever knocked when he sees that Balloon Boy or BB has made it inside the taxi, for one final jumpscare. It’s unknown whether the driver survived the encounter. The audio that played at the end of the credits sounded like an animatronic saying some letters, but fans will have to stick around to the end to see what they can hear. They might even be a precursor to a sequel. You can catch Five Nights at Freddy’s in theaters and on Peacock from October 27, 2023.
