While Risk of Rain Returns hides many fun secrets like the Robomando class, some secrets are truly hidden deep, and Boar Beach is one of them. A secret location introduced in Risk of Rain as a reference to the classic MMORPG MapleStory, Boar Beach became part of a new reimagining of the old game. As in the original game, you can hunt boars in exchange for experience and money and get a unique T-shirt, but now you can also find a skin for Acrid. The method to unlock this location is the same as before, but we are here to help you if you are new.
Where To Find Boar Beach in Risk of Rain Returns

First, to find Boar Beach at Risk of Rain Returns, enter the Ancient Valley biome during the third stage. You’ll have to start a new run if you’re unlucky enough to end up in the Sunken Tomb (alternative third stage). Be that as it may, sooner or later, you will find yourself in the snow biome and can continue your search.
As we said earlier, if you already found Boar Beach in the original Risk of Rain, you can follow the same path. But if you’re new, here’s how to find Boar Beach:
- Once in the Ancient Valley biome, go to the upper left corner of the map.
- Once you reach the jumping platform, jump onto the highest ledge, as in the image above.
- Stand near the bush and hold down the Up key for a few seconds to move to the Boar Beach location.
This location is full of boars, and after defeating them all, you can enter the portal. But the bad news is that you will return to the beginning of Ancient Valley. Simply put, Boar Beach is not an alternative ending to the third stage, and after you’ve had fun with the pigs, you’ll have to go back to where you started. But while you are here, it’s worth collecting all the rewards.
Why You Should Visit Boar Beach
First, by killing all the monsters in this location, you can earn a lot of experience and money, which can be helpful if you are hunting for achievements or saving up for new items. In addition, after killing all the monsters, you will meet a pig wearing a white T-shirt. It is immune or resistant to some types of damage, so it is not easy to kill it. But once you defeat it, you will receive a canonical MapleStory item.
Finally, you can get a unique Prism skin for Acrid, and here’s how to do it:
- Once you spawn on the map, go to the left side of the map to the root, as shown in the image above.
- Go underground and go through underground parkour. Use something like Hopoo Feather to increase your jump count.
- Once you reach the right corner of the map, pick up a skin.
