Roll a d20 for a sequel. Chris Pine has put out into the universe that he wants to return for Dungeons & Dragons 2. While nothing is set in stone, he is “pretty confident that it may happen,” although anything he has heard has been just a rumor. If he got his wish, then fans would see yet another adventure as his Bard, Edgin.
Chris Pine Wants Dungeons & Dragons 2 To Happen
The actor did not give any details of what he heard when speaking to GamesRadar. Whatever the rumors that he heard, it is giving him the confidence to put it out into the world with the hope that it could happen.
It is up in the air that a Dungeons & Dragons 2 could happen, despite the hope from Chris Pine, mostly due to its box office performance. While the tabletop game has never been more popular, largely thanks to the film and Baldur’s Gate 3, the movie was not a smash at the box office. With a budget of $150 million, it grossed $208 million. This has been a trend for many blockbusters as the theater business still struggles post-2019. For every success, like Top Gun: Maverick and Barbie, there had been bombs like The Marvels and Black Adam.
The film did match what fans wanted as it captured the feel of playing with the lens of a blockbuster movie. It was co-directed by Spider-Man: Homecoming writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. They co-wrote the script with Michael Gilio (Dark Harvest). The Wonder Woman star was joined by Michelle Rodriguez (Fast X), Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton), Justice Smith (Pokemon: Detective Pikachu), Sophia Lillis (It), Chloe Coleman (Big Little Lies), Daisy Head (Shadow and Bone), and Hugh Grant.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is available on a variety of streaming platforms. For physical media, it is available on DVD and Blu-ray.
