In the final part of The Awakened King DLC, you will find the One True King in the Chamber of the Faithless, and you will have a dialog with an important choice. The mad lord will ask you to kill the goddess who is imprisoned in the castle, and the question arises whether you should kill Nimue in Remnant 2: The Awakened King or let her live. Depending on your choice, you can get different rewards, so it’s worth knowing all the details to make a decision.
Remnant 2: The Awakened King – Kill or Spare Nimue?
So, when you get to the Chamber of the Faithless, where the One True King will be sitting on the throne, you can talk to him. After a long dialog, it will come down to an offer to kill the imprisoned goddess Nimue and there will be 2 main options to choose from:
- What is my task, majesty?
- You call that an answer?
You either accept the king’s conditions or fight him immediately. It’s worth noting that you will still have to fight the king later, even if you choose to obey him. So, let’s talk more about each of these options and find out what awaits you.
Submit to the One True King
If you agree to the king’s offer, then go to the tower where Nimue is imprisoned. Here, you will have a short dialog with the goddess, who will try to convince you that you should not obey the king. From this point on, you can obey or kill her. If you decide to keep your promise to the king, select the dialog option “It’s time to die, lady!”.
Next, you will see a small cutscene in which you pierce the goddess’s heart with the Rod of Retribution given to you by the One True King. As soon as Nimue dies, you will receive the following item as a reward:
- Broken Heart relic: When used, it will restore 50% of your maximum HP in 0.25 seconds. Innate +50% use speed bonus.
After that, you can return to the king, who will be satisfied with the successful completion of the task. Despite this, he still doesn’t trust you and will want to kill you, so be prepared for a fight.
Spare Nimue
If Nimue convinces you not to listen to the king, you can spare the goddess. To do so, select the sparing option, which sounds like “You win, I hope I don’t regret this.” Thus, by agreeing to her, you will receive Nimue’s Vow.
Now, you need to return to One True King with the quest item and kill him. If you do everything right, Nimue’s Vow will turn into Nimue’s Blood-Marred Vow. When this is done, return to the goddess and give her the item you just received.
As a thank you, she will reward you with the following item:
- Gift Of The Unbound (Amulet): Deactivates the negative effects of the Rings of Burden. For each disabled effect, maximum health will be reduced by 20%.
If both options seem too long and complicated, you can use the third, easiest one.
Fight One True King Right Away
If you’re not interested in the king’s offer, you can fight him right away by selecting the appropriate dialog option. Get ready for a hard and long battle because this is the final boss.
Once you kill the One True King, head to the tower where Nimue is imprisoned to talk to her. Once you tell her about the king’s death, she will reward you with the next item:
- Jewel of the Beholden: When used for 10 seconds, it increases Mod Damage by 15%.
That’s it, those are all the options you can use. In our opinion, it’s better to save Nimue using one of the above options to finish the DLC on a good note.
Remnant 2 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
