WoW Classic was already a fun game but the latest Season of Discovery adds a bunch of immersive items that enhance certain classes‘ playstyle, such as Comprehension Charms for Mages. Since these are new things arriving in this game’s classic version, a few veterans and newcomers might be confused about what to do with them. Given how crucial these items are for Mages, knowing how to find them and where to get them is vital if spellcasters want to increase their repertoire.
Where To Find Comprehension Charm in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery
There are two confirmed ways to get Comprehension Charms in the game right now. The first one is free and involves a quest that introduces you to the new Rune Engravings mechanic, while the other one requires you to spend 7 silver for each Comprehension Charm. We’ll detail the quests and locations here.
Finish Your Level 2 Mage Quest
The first time you’ll get Comprehension Charms in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery is after finishing your class quest. This one is easy and almost the same for all races. From your starting zone, follow the quest that leads you to the Mage trainer. Finish the Spell Research quest to get three Comprehension Charms.
Buy Them From Reagent Vendors
The next way to get them is by purchasing them, but it is quite expensive. You’ll need 7 Silver for each Charm, which is quite costly in WoW Classic. Still, it is necessary to decipher certain scrolls and get Runes or other stat-boosting items. We used The Undercity as an example in our image, but you can find Reagent Vendors in the following locations of your race’s capital city:
- Stormwind City:
- Keldric Boucher: 55.8, 65.2
- Charys Yserian: 32.4, 80.0
- Brother Cassius: 43.4, 26.8
- Kyra Boucher: 56.2, 65.0
- Orgrimmar:
- Horthus: 45.6, 56.8
- Ironforge:
- Barim Jurgenstaad: 19.6, 56.2
- Darnassus:
- Alaindia: 38.8, 57.0
- Cyroen: 34.6, 9.8
- Undercity
- Thomas Mordan: 69.6, 39.2
- Hannah Akeley: 82.6, 16.0
Remember to use the command /way followed by the above numbers to find the NPCs.
How To Use Comprehension Charms
Once you have the Charms, you must loot one of the game’s new scrolls, such as Scroll: LOWER PING WHOMEVER. Just click on the item and let it do its job. It is important to note that new Rune Engravings aren’t guaranteed drops, and you might get random Scrolls.
According to the community and our personal experiences, it is better to use them for Spell Scrolls only and not the random ones you get that increase your stats, such as Scroll of Intellect. Since they are costly, it is better to save them for something that’ll give you a worthy spell. Also, some players have reported there’s another way to get free Comprehension Charms in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery by giving books to an NPC in the Mage Tower of Elwynn Forest, but we haven’t been able to confirm this.
Ultimately, how you get these Charms is up to you, but we recommend saving them for abilities that matter. Earning gold in WoW Classic is much harder than in the game’s retail version, so remember to manage your money before going on a Charm shopping spree.
