Savannah Chrisley isn’t taking her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley’s disparaging prison conditions sitting down. The TV personality has been on a rampage since her parents began their respective prison sentences following their conviction for tax-related fraud. Aside from her move to secure her parent’s freedom, the 26-year-old remains focused on ensuring they have the most seamless prison stay throughout their stint. Her quest is made increasingly difficult by the reportedly pitiful state of the prison system in the country, especially with her dad’s latest complaint about the prison food and “disgustingly filthy” living conditions.

Following Todd Chrisley’s allegations, the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) came forward to debunk his claims, insisting they made the quality of prison food a priority. Despite the deputy director of the Bureau of Prisons visiting the Pensacola prison to verify the claims, Savannah Chrisley remains unimpressed. According to her, the prison officials knew of the deputy’s arrival beforehand, giving them adequate time to mask their shortcomings ahead of the inspection. Hence, she deemed whatever report the deputy presented as his findings as inauthentic.

Notably, the findings confirmed the prison provided portable water and appetizing food, ultimately debunking Todd and Savannah Chrisley’s allegations. Backing her point, Savannah claimed a prison insider tipped her on how the management orchestrated the sneaking out of all the expired food and hid in a van pending the deputy’s arrival. They returned the smuggled items once the investigating body left post-inspection. Hence, nothing seemed out of place. Knowing the corrupt prison system worked to cover up the disparaging conditions the prisoners live in, the reality star refuses to be portrayed as a liar, which is what the final report did.

Savannah claimed she had evidential records of everything she and her dad alleged against the prison, including evidence of serving outdated food, unhealthy drinking water, and mold infestation across the facility. The star made it clear that while she wasn’t aiming for a five-star treatment for prisoners, she hoped they get the basic necessities. She added,

“It’s an uphill battle because I’m fighting against the government. I’m fighting against the Bureau of Prisons.”

Savannah also claimed the deputy director never ate the food the prisoners ate, as the FBOP reports claimed. She also addressed scathing remarks from some netizens claiming her parents deserved their sentencing. The star made it clear anyone could be in her parent’s shoes. All it took was one bad prosecutor, or a judge behind the case. Regardless of what she thought about her parents’ sentencing, Todd and Julie Chrisley’s daughter Savannah only aimed for fair treatment for all incarcerated people.

In her lengthy address, Savannah Chrisley also implied that the prison siphoned funds allotted for prisoners’ education. She challenged the corrupt system to provide a full accounting of how said funds were legally disbursed. She divulged,

“There is the APA Act of 1946 and I believe that there is legal action that can be taken against the BOP. There are federal agencies. There is corruption that runs rampant. So it’s time to deconstruct them and build back a healthier system for all.”

Savannah believes making the prison system better ultimately made for a better society as these prisoners would reintegrate into society upon their release. She admitted her parent’s sentencing sparked her interest in advocating for a better prison system as it now impacts her. She noted,

“Sometimes it takes you being affected by it personally to make a difference and to become involved in it.”

With her revived interest in prison reform, Savannah Chrisley isn’t holding back as it is a “humanity issue.” She vowed to reach out to anyone interested in making a lasting change as well to see her cause through. With hours of evidential recordings and documentation backing her, Savannah already has a headstart.
