Farming is one of the oldest activities in any survival crafting game, and as expected, it makes an appearance in Lego Fortnite. In this new crossover title, players need to manage their hunger by eating food, and the easiest way to obtain it is by planting seeds. So, if you’re not keen on exploring or fighting and prefer to guide your villagers to a better place, farming and growing crops might be the best thing you can do in Lego Fortnite, provided you have the seeds, soil, and other materials to get the job done.

Lego Fortnite: A Complete Farming Guide

Contrary to other games, farming in Lego Fortnite is quite easy, and you only need a few materials such as soil, fertilizer, and seeds; plus, you can even guide some villagers to do the job for you after a while. So, if you’ve been struggling with how to get started with a farmer’s life, here are a few tips that’ll give you a headstart.

How To Get Soil in Lego Fortnite

Before you even attempt to plant anything, you need to prepare the land, and for that, you require a Garden Plot. This item requires fertilizer and soil. The former is easy to get, and we have a dedicated guide for that, should you want to read it. For the latter, though, you need the following:

  1. Build a Lumber Mill (Wood x8, Granite x15)
  2. Insert Wood into the Lumber Mill and craft Planks x1 and Wooden Rod x3.
  3. Head to your Workbench and craft a Shovel.
  4. Once you have the Shovel, start digging any grassy surface to obtain soil.

With the soil in your inventory, all you need now is some fertilizer, which you can get by petting animals, and that’s it; you can build your first Garden Plot.

Now that the hard part is done, the next thing on this Farming Guide for Lego Fortnite pertains to growing crops. You might remember how other games of the genre require you to water crops, combine seeds, and so on. Lego Fortnite makes things easier by only asking you to find seeds and plant them. Once you have a seed, open your Garden Plot and deposit the seed; it’ll grow by itself.

How To Get Seeds

Since getting seeds is easier said than done, many players will struggle with getting some. Early in the game, we found many seeds inside chests, digging and fighting Dummy enemies. However, the best way to get seeds is by building a Gran Mill. To build it, you need Knotrood Rod x20, Granite Slab x20, and Shell x2. Here are the seeds you can plant in your village and their usual locations:

  • Raspberry (Grasslands)
  • Slapberry (Shore)
  • Spicy Pepper (Dry Valley)
  • Wheat (Found inside chests)
  • Snowberry (Frostlands)
  • Corn Kernel (Grasslands)

We recommend getting as many seeds as possible and assigning your villagers to tend your crops once you level your village enough. Also, remember to use your crops for better dishes; try not to eat them raw. Initially, farming might seem boring, but it is one of the most rewarding activities in the game. It doesn’t matter if you’re facing skeletons or wolves; a good meal goes a long way to protect you and your friends.
