The special M16 Service Carbine in GTA Online is unlocked once you have visited five Crime Scene locations. In each spot, you will be able to salvage five different components of the rifle: the Barrel, Receiver, Magazine, Sights, and Scope. It also lets you purchase the Stanier LE Cruiser marked police car at a cheaper price. The game will randomly select one out of 10 fixed locations across Los Santos, but there is also a cooldown timer before and after the Crime Scene appears and is looted. Knowing the exact spot of the random event will surely help you get the Service Carbine and police cruiser faster.
GTA Online: All Possible Crime Scene Locations
Do keep in mind that the clue you need to investigate in a GTA Online Crime Scene is not the briefcase. Instead, you kind of have to pixel-hunt for a small item on the ground. Usually, it’s near a crouching police officer, but to be safe just walk around slowly while spamming the Interact button until a notification appears. Check the table below for all 10 random locations where the Crime Scene can appear.
Collecting the first four Service Carbine components will reward you with $5,000 and 2,000 RP. An additional $55,000 and 2,000 RP will be given after looting the last Crime Scene and unlocking the M16 Service Carbine weapon in GTA Online. The random event will keep popping up from time to time though. Grabbing the clues again will net you $10,000 and 2,000 RP.

According to the GTA Online community, there is a way to “force spawn” a Crime Scene. Considering you have to wait for 20 minutes for a Crime Scene to randomly spawn. Then wait another 30 minutes after collecting clues for the random event to appear again.
- Join an Invite-Only Session.
- Wait for 20 minutes.
- Check all 10 random Crime Scene locations.
- Once a clue spawns, go to a new Invite-Only Sessions.
- Repeat from Step 2 until you’ve gathered all five clues.
How to Unlock the Marked Police Car Trade Price
Finding a piece of evidence at a Crime Scene also unlocks the trade price for the Stanier LE Cruiser police car. But to be able to purchase it, you have to first complete “The Gangbanger Robbery” mission where you scope out Mission Row Police Station. Warstock Cache & Carry will then let you purchase it at the stock price of $4,690,000.
Collect one Crime Scene clue and check back to Warstock Cache & Carry again. The marked cop car will be available at a trade price of $3,517,500. If you have done the Crime Scene event before The Chop Shop Update, then the trade price is instantly unlocked.
