Guild Alchemy is a new system added in Monster Hunter World via the Iceborne expansion. This melding system lets you turn tickets into random Decorations, which are potent gems you can slot into weapons and armor to give bonus effects. Many late-game and challenging hunts will require an optimized set of Decorations, and the Guild Alchemy is an excellent way to get extra Decorations. This system is unlocked in Monster Hunter World Iceborne, but the way to unlock it isn’t immediately apparent.
How To Unlock Guild Alchemy in Monster Hunter World
To unlock Guild Alchemy in Monster Hunter World Iceborne, you must acquire either a Gold Melding Ticket or Silver Melding Ticket. There are a couple different ways to do this, the simplest being the Steamworks. The Steamworks is a minigame that gives a bunch of items, so long as you have fuel to power it. On the list of items are both the Silver and Gold Melding Tickets. The fuel is accumulated pretty naturally as you do hunts.
There are two alternative methods. One is the limited-time bounties system, a set of weekly tasks. Unfortunately, the tickets aren’t always available as rewards, which is inconsistent. The other way is the Master Rank event quest “Old Dog, New Trick.” This requires you to be able to take on 5-Star Master Rank quests and features an arena fight against a Frostfang Barioth. Capcom made it so that all event quests are always available in Monster Hunter World when it stopped releasing major updates, and this quest always rewards a Gold Melding Ticket.
Once you have a ticket, speaking with the Elder Melder is either hub area will unlock Guild Alchemy.
How Guild Alchemy Works in Monster Hunter World
Once you have acquired the tickets for Guild Alchemy, using them is incredibly simple. Just go the Elder Melder and select Guild Alchemy. From there, you can turn in either Steel, Silver, or Gold Melding Tickets, up to 40 at once. This does not require any money or research points, just the tickets. When you submit them, you will be given random Decorations equal to a number of tickets given. The higher rarity the tickets, the better the chances of a high-level decoration.
Monster Hunter World is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
