Play enough Warframe, and you’ll soon realize that min-maxing is a huge part of the game, even when you’re not in the endgame phase yet. Mods like Fleeting Expertise in Warframe are at the forefront of this intermediate player activity. If you want to squeeze more performance out of your Warframe, here’s our explanation for Fleeting Expertise and why you need it.
Fleeting Expertise Explanation
A Warframe in Warframe has four main ability stats that you can modify depending on your preferences or needs. These four following stats will affect a Warframe’s abilities.
- Duration – Determines the length of an Ability’s effect.
- Efficiency – Determines the Energy consumption of an Ability when activated.
- Range – Determines the area of effect of an applicable Abilities.
- Strength – Determines the damage, buff, or debuff strength of Abilities.
What Fleeting Expertise does (+60% Ability Efficiency, -60% Ability Duration) is to reduce the Energy consumption of your Abilities, but the huge reduction in Energy cost comes with a drawback of also reducing the Duration.
So, while your Abilities now cost less, they also last shorter, assuming they have a duration or timer.
How to Counteract the Duration Drawback
Energy-hungry Warframes can just find other ways to get Energy regeneration, such as the Zenurik Focus School, Tome Mods, or Energy Restore consumables, instead of resorting to Fleeting Expertise.
You can also counteract Fleeting Expertise’s drawback by slotting in Duration mods like:
- Continuity
- Augur Message
- Constitution
These mods increase Duration, allowing you to negate the -60% Ability Duration from Fleeting Expertise. Well, at least to a certain extent.
Where to Get Fleeting Expertise
Right now, there are several methods for obtaining Fleeting Expertise in Warframe, and we’re going to indicate which is the easiest among them.
- Orokin Vault missions (any non-Assassination Deimos node), but you need Dragon Keys equipped. This method is free, but the rewards are random.
- Trading. You can buy it for Platinum from other players or maybe ask your Clan-mates for some spares they don’t need.
- Events. Certain fleeting events can reward the Fleeting Expertise mod. Keep an eye out for them.
If there’s no event right now that rewards Fleeting Expertise, just trade for it. It goes for like 5 Platinum, and you can even ask some nice players for a free one if you’re new to the game.
