Call of Duty players have many different bundles to buy for their arsenal of weapons. The tracer packs available for multiple guns for MW III and Call of Duty: Warzone change various properties of the guns that players can use. One of the newest bundles added to both games highlights an aspect of playing Call of Duty that players find incredibly annoying.

As of January 5th, 2024, Call of Duty players can pick up the Insert Coin Mastercraft bundle for their account in the game’s storefront. The new tracer pack comes with various weapon skins, profile banners, icons, and the High Score Doc skin. There’s a lot included for the price of 2400 COD coins to purchase the tracer pack.

An Annoying Easter Egg Players Know Well

Within the new collection of goodies is a weapon skin called Arcade Rhythm, which is a blueprint for the Rival-9. Using this version of the SMG comes with an effect that pixelates an enemy when killed, causing them to turn into pixels and disappear. However, an interesting part of this gun is what players can see when inspecting their weapon in the middle of a game. The character will look at the SMG and try to log into their Call of Duty profile on the gun, but will be met with an โ€œupdate requires restartโ€ message on the screen. The playerโ€™s character will then get frustrated after seeing the message and return to normal.

The fun and goofy animation for the Arcade Rhythm is an homage to the frequent message Call of Duty players see after a new update goes live. Whether theyโ€™re playing Warzone or any new Call of Duty entry, every player has come across the message after a new update is available. This causes the game to quickly restart, so the update would install before allowing players to continue logging into their profile.

This has been an ongoing issue for nearly every Call of Duty release since 2020, and continues to this day with Modern Warfare III. Although it doesnโ€™t take long for the game to reset and allow players to begin playing, some have said it can take a few minutes on consoles in some cases. Itโ€™s annoying for every player to deal with, but it makes for a funny Easter egg that even Call of Duty characters have to deal with.
