Best Settings in Palworld for Optimization and Max FPS

Hang in there, GTX 1050. You’re a survivor. Survive.

Palworld is the new kid in town when it comes to open-world gaming. Like most open-world games, it can be demanding. That’s also to be expected from an early-access title. However, you can tweak some settings in this survival battle pet game to get the most performance out of your hardware without sacrificing too much graphical fidelity. Try out these best settings in Palworld for max FPS.

Best Settings in Palworld Based on System Requirements

But first, we’d like to remind everyone that these settings aren’t universal or a one-size-fits-all affair. If you have a GPU more powerful than an RTX 2070 and a complementary CPU that won’t bottleneck the graphics card, you can likely run Palworld on the Epic preset at 60 FPS more or less.

So this guide targets players whose gaming PCs fall within the minimum (i5-3570K / GTX 1050) and recommended (i9-9900K / RTX 2070) spec range or their equivalent AMD hardware.

We’re aiming for 60 FPS or at the bare minimum, at least slightly higher than 30 FPS. Also, we’re assuming the resolution is 1080p.

Graphical SettingOur Recommendation
PresetsCustom / Default (this doesn’t matter since we’re customizing each setting)
Screen ModeWindowed (make sure Screen Resolution is native to make it Borderless)
Screen ResolutionYour monitor’s native resolution (nothing more, nothing less)
Max FPS60+ (or ideally slightly higher than the average FPS you’re getting)
VSyncOff (Windowed Screen Mode means there’s no need for VSync)
Motion BlurOn if you’re getting below 60 FPS average, otherwise Off (it helps hide the sluggishness of low FPS)
Anti AliasingFXAA (avoid TAA unless you don’t mind the blurriness, and TSR has a noticeable performance impact)
View DistanceHigh (Epic is overkill and the visual fog will obscure your view anyway)
Grass DetailsHigh (negligible difference between High and Epic)
ShadowsMedium (difference between Medium and High is close to negligible)
Effects QualityHigh (drop it to Medium if you get lower FPS in combat)
Texture QualityEpic (lower it if the game is stuttering even with smooth framerate)
DLSSOff (even if you have an Nvidia GPU since image degradation is too much even at Quality)
Field of View80-90 (below that is too constrictive and detrimental to competitive gameplay)
Camera ShakeThis one’s up to you, it has no performance impact
Ride Camera Distance2 (higher lets you have a wider perspective)

Sadly, you’ll have to make concessions to the best settings in Palworld if your specs fall closer to the game’s minimum system requirements. That GTX 1050 is probably at its limits with this game.

It might mean lowering every graphical spectrum to Medium. In some cases, maybe even Low (for Shadow, View Distance, and Grass Details). You can, however, consider downloading some performance mods, especially those intended for the Steam Deck. It might help.
