This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Shroud Cores are an essential material in Enshrouded, as you’ll need them to upgrade and enhance your Flame Altar. Additionally, they can be used in crafting certain objects. The only problem is that it can be pretty difficult to get your hands on Shroud Cores until after you’ve unlocked the ability to craft them or until you’ve spent quite a bit of time leveling your character. Oftentimes, it involves defeating a boss or even traversing the dreaded Shroud in search of crafting materials.

There’s only one way to truly farm Shroud Cores, and unfortunately, it must be done by farming the Shroud bosses that protect each of the Shroud Roots in Elixir Wells. Really, any boss you come across in Elixir Wells will drop Shroud Cores, but it’s easiest to farm the initial boss for them. The Fell Thunderbrute boss respawns every day, which means you can farm Shroud Cores galore if you have the levels to take him on.

Along with a Shroud Core, you’ll receive extra drops from the Fell Thunderbrute boss as well. Every time he is defeated, he drops a single Shroud Core, a Fell Thunderbrute Head, a weapon, and sometimes even some Runes. Besides the Shroud Cores, farming Fell Thunderbrute is worth the effort.

Crafting Shroud Cores is the easiest way to get your hands on them. However, before you can begin making them, you will have to save the Alchemist from his Ancient Vault and give him a place to stay in your base. After you’ve successfully placed this NPC in your base with the Summoning Staff, you can speak with him to open up the crafting menu.

Within the crafting menu, you can craft a single Shroud Core using 10 Shroud Spores and 10 Shroud Liquid together.

  • Shroud Core
    • A stable form of energy. Burning it at the Flame Altar may protect against the Shroud.
    • Crafted at Alchemist
      • 10x Shroud Spores
      • 10x Shroud Liquid

To recap:

  • Shroud Cores drop from bosses like the Fell Thunderbrute.
  • You can craft Shroud Cores using Shroud Spores and Shroud Liquid.
  • You can only obtain Shroud Cores and the required materials to craft them in the Shroud.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
