Five craftspeople help make your journey much easier in Enshrouded. These are the Farmer, Carpenter, Blacksmith, Hunter, and Alchemist. From creating the building blocks of your base to crafting the highest level of Mage gear, these characters can give you everything you need. They’ll even provide you with more crafting tools and equipment as you complete more quests and build more equipment for them. Let’s dive into all five of the craftspeople and what exactly it is that each one does.
Where Is Each Craftsperson in Enshrouded?
You can find the locations of each craftsperson’s vault on the map above. You can get to each one relatively easy from the starting Fire Altar. You’ll need to get the Blacksmith first, followed by the Alchemist and the Hunter. In our playthrough, we ended the hunt with the Farmer and then the Carpenter after unlocking the Low Meadows Ancient Spire. From the top of the Spire, we used the glider to get into the area where the Carpenter sleeps.

Farmer
The Farmer helps make the entire survival aspect of Enshrouded much more interesting. They help you with the food you grow in your base. They provide you with different recipes you can take out with you in Embervale. You will also be able to curate soil that can be used to farm all the resources you collected. The Farmer doesn’t offer a lot when you first get them, so you will need:
- Oven
- Almanac of Plants and Seedlings
- Fireplace
- Beehive Smoker
How To Get The Farmer
To get the Farmer, you’re required to solve a door puzzle. There are three buttons that you need to press in order to unlock a door that leads you to her.
Button 1
You first need to cross four electric energy balls that are flying across the room. As you get close to them, you’ll be able to jump over them with ease. Once you get past them, you’ll find the first button. this will also the beams altogether.
Button 2
Just after the first button, you’ll be met with a gap that has the staircase you climbed ealier down below. If you have the grappling hook, you’ll be able to jump across the gap using two swings. Make sure you have enough stamina before doing this. Just beyond the gap you’ll find the second button.
Button 3
You’ll be met with a mesh wall just after the second button that you’ll need to climb. This is the tricky part because you’ll then need to fall down into the next area. Inside, you’ll be met with a trap floor that has spikes coming out. Carefullly bypass the floor to find the third and final button. After that, you’re free to go back to the beginning and open the Farmer’s vault.
Blacksmith
The very first craftspeople you unlock in Enshrouded is the Blacksmith. They will help you craft a variety of beginning equipment including Scrappy survival equipment and the Fur armor set. This is also the person you’ll want to go to when the time comes to use nails in crafting. To get the most out of the Blacksmith, you will need:
- Forge
- Smelter
- Smithing Tools
Carpenter
The Carpenter is an incredible addition to any base, especially for creating furniture, doors, and windows. You can also go to the Carpenter for help building chests. You’re definitely going to need them as you continuously pick things up in Embervale. To get the most out of this craftsperson, you will need:
- Kiln
- Table Saw
- Masonry Tools
Where to Get the Carpenter
We’re sure that there are plenty of different ways to get the Carpenter in Enshrouded. However, we listed the way that we got him which included finding a second Spire. The Low Lands Ancient Spire is to the east of the starting location and just north of the Carpenter’s vault. In our playthrough, we found the Ancient Spire and with the help of the Glider, glided down as close as we possibly could to the vault. More specifically, we went a little east of the vault itself so as to walk around and avoid conflict or tall areas from which we could fall and die, having to start over.
Once you’ve gotten as close as you can to the vault, you will want to go into the Shroud just south of the vault. The Carpenter’s vault is within the Shroud itself. Once inside, you can continue to follow the waypoint towards the Carpenter. If at any point you le
Hunter
The Hunter is one of the craftspeople that you’ll be engaging with the most in Enshrouded. We found that regardless of playstyle, they provided us with things we always needed including Animal Fur, Torches, and even the Scout armor set. Having them in your base is also great for crafting carpets and different wall decorations. You also craft a Drying Rack for the Hunter to use to conserve furs. There is no specific crafting equipment that the Hunter needs.
Alchemist
The Alchemist provides you with several supplies and resources including Health Potions, Mana Potions, and even Shroud Cores. You can also craft a variety of different magic-based armor sets including the Healer Set, Mage Set, and Alchemist Apprentice Set. The Alchemist can also help you craft magical weapons and a variety of different decorative books to place around your base. To be able to craft almost everything that the Alchemist has to offer, you will need:
- Mortar
- Alchemy Station
- Laboratory
Enshrouded is available in early access on Steam.
