Like other Persona games, Persona 3 Reload‘s protagonist is a high school student who must attend various classes every day. Although being a good student is the right thing to do, you can either sleep or stay awake in class in Persona 3 Reload. Unfortunately, the game does not clearly explain the consequences of your actions, and some new players may get scared of getting scolded by the teacher. If you’re curious to know what will happen if you go to sleep in class, I’ll explain how this mechanic works!
Should You Sleep or Stay Awake in Class in Persona 3 Reload?
The answer to whether or not you want to stay awake or fall asleep depends on which Social Stats you want to increase. Each action will grant you one point for one Social Stat. Here are the details:
- Fall asleep – Courage +1
- Stay awake – Academics +1
Increasing all Social Stats to the maximum is important, but I recommend avoiding falling asleep and focusing on Academics first during the first two months. This is because you will encounter exams at the end of May in Persona 3 Reload. You want to reach Academics Level 2 so you can enter your class rankings.
If you perform well, Mitsuru will reward you the next time you speak with her. The item you receive is usually an Incense Card, which can boost one Persona’s stats. You will also get a +4 Charm if you take the number one spot in your class. However, this is unlikely to happen early in the game, which is why I don’t recommend falling asleep in class until you max out your Academics.
If you want to increase your Courage, you can work part-time at Chagall Cafe in Paulownia Mall. Besides getting some cash, you will also obtain one point for Courage and Charm. There is simply no reason for you to fall asleep in class when you can regularly work at this shop every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights.
