Can you hear the colors? Hunter Schafer and Noomi Rapace have signed on to join the horror movie Palette. The Euphoria star and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo lead join alongside Mr. Robot star Frankie Shaw for the freaky scares. The film will be written and directed for Zach Strauss’s feature debut.
The Euphoria star plays Dolly, “a woman suffering from extreme synesthesia, a rare condition where she is able to hear colors,” according to the film’s synopsis. She is “recruited into a secretive, cult-like industry of color design, uncovering the dark reality of what it takes to make the world’s greatest hues.” Rapace plays the executive of this company, Latrice. Shaw is Sidney, Dolly’s dangerous rival.

The writer-director is gaining pace in his career. He previously wrote on NCIS: New Orleans and SMILF. He will be a writer for Spike Lee’s next film, Da Understudy.
Along with Palette, Hunter Schafer is building her career beyond the Zendaya-led HBO series in the underworld of horror projects. In December, it was announced that she would join legendary video game developer Hideo Kojima for a horror game called OD, which is also being worked on in collaboration with Jordan Peele. She will also star in the upcoming film Cuckoo, which premieres this spring.
Meanwhile, Noomi Rapace had dabbled in horror before Palette and after her trilogy of mystery thrillers with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy. She was in the 2021 Icelandic film Lamb from A24. She also starred in the Australian film You Won’t Be Alone.
Currently, world rights are being sold by Anton at the European Film Market in Berlin. CAA Media Finance and Verve Ventures represent the U.S. rights.
