Compared to most other RPGs, Granblue Fantasy: Relink is on the short side. You can even finish the main quest in just around 10-15 hours if you rush it. Thankfully, that’s not the end. Any seasoned JRPG fan will tell you that that’s just the tutorial. Because, like most JRPGs, Granblue Fantasy: Relink has an elaborate timesink of an endgame. If you’re feeling a bit lost after the main story, here’s our recommendation on the best things to do after finishing the campaign in Granblue Fantasy Relink.
Recruit All the Characters
While the bulk of the main cast in Granblue Fantasy: Relink will join your crew as the story progresses, you can still miss some of them, especially if you rushed through the campaign.
So, one of the few tasks you need to ensure before diving into higher difficulties is to grab all the playable characters. There are 18 of them in total, and here are the ones you can only get through a Crewmate Card:
- Cagliostro
- Charlotta
- Ferry
- Ghandagoza
- Lancelot
- Narmaya
- Percival
- Siegfried
- Vane
- Vaseraga
- Yodarha
- Zeta
The rest are available right away or during Chapter 0. While you’re at it, test out some of them so you can check to see if you missed out on some cooler interactions. In most cases, the Crewmate Card characters might be more powerful than the ones given out for free.
Try prioritizing Zeta, Percival, Lancelot, Cagliostro, Ferry, and Narmaya. Think of it like Genshin Impact, except with a more forgiving acquisition system.
Keep Going and Try Out Harder Difficulties
Once you’re done with Chapter 10 or if you’ve finished Granblue Fantasy: Relink, you’ll be ushered into Chapter 0. This is the endgame, and you’ll be able to access two new grades of difficulty, namely:
- Veteran Skyfarer Grade – Gives access to the following quest difficulties:
- Hard
- Very Hard
- Extreme
- Zegagrande Legend – You need to have finished the Veteran Skyfarer Grade difficulties to unlock this and the following quest difficulties:
- Maniac
- Proud
You’ll naturally want to get to Proud difficulty since, at that stage, you’ll be able to unlock the most powerful weapons in Granblue: Fantasy Relink.
Moreover, don’t consider these difficulties optional (because they’re not). At this point in the Granblue Fantasy Relink endgame, you have to complete each difficulty tier to unlock the succeeding difficulty. You do that by finishing Ranking Quests and just finishing difficulty-specific quests through the Quest Counter.
Grind Extreme Difficulty Quests
Earlier quest grinding (for Fortitude Crystals and level-up resources) is almost always wasted because you don’t exactly get a lot from the quests. Your effort will mostly be rewarded once you set foot in Extreme Difficulty.
There, you’ll be showered with many Fortitude Crystals, Experience, and Mastery Points. You can do these Extreme Difficulty Quests over and over again until you get the right amount of upgrade materials for your characters and weapons.
Here are the notable rewards depending on the quest types:
- Conquest Type – Fortitude Crystals
- Horde Type – Fortitude Crystals
- Survival Type – Experience & Vouchers for Sigils
- Explore Type– Mastery Points
You can also practice with some Boss quests over and over again if you want to test out your builds and check if you’re ready for the next difficulty or to see what’s missing from your setups.
However, for ease, we recommend grinding quests that you’re only comfortable with and something you can safely finish in a timely manner.
Max Out at Least Four Characters
Obviously, the more the merrier. But the baseline is to get four level 100 characters to level 100 as early as you can. You can usually do that once you get to Extreme Difficulty Quests.
We recommend maxing out your favorite party composition during this stage in the Granblue Fantasy Relink endgame before moving on to the Zegagrande Legend. That way, you get to enjoy nearly full builds, and you only have to work toward upgrading to the next weapon tiers.
If you want more variety and a better safety net, you can add two more characters to that level 100 goal (along with their respective weapons) so you can swap them out. Six is ideal since this way, you can change your teams depending on enemy weakness.
For versatility, max out at least one character from each element, which, again, brings us to maxing out six characters.
Collect the Terminus Weapons
Each character has an upgradeable weapon, and they all have six tiers or levels. You’ll only get to unlock the weapon’s 6th tier once you are in the Proud difficulty, which is available in the Zegagrande Legend progression.
This should be among your endgame goals, especially if you want to kill the jacked-up bosses you encounter in higher difficulties. Here’s a list of the Terminus weapons in Granblue Fantasy: Relink for each character.
Character | Weapon |
Cagliostro | Zosimos, The Unabridged Truth |
Charlotta | Galatine, Trinity’s Wrath |
Eugen | Draconic Fire, Charring Breath |
Ferry | Ethereal Lasher, Fleeting End |
Ghandagoza | Sky Piercer, The Apex Fist |
Gran/Djeeta | Seven-Star Sword, Celestial |
Id | Primal Sword of Bahamut |
Io | Caduceus, Immortal Coil |
Katalina | Blutgang, Blade of Refuge |
Lancelot | Damascus Knife, The Unseen |
Narmaya | Ameno Habakiri, The Beheader |
Percival | Gottfried, The White Fang |
Rackam | Freikugel, The Purifier |
Rosetta | Primal Dagger of Bahamut Coda |
Siegfried | Balmung, The Blue Blaze |
Vane | Mjolnir, Thunderous Crusher |
Vaseraga | Ereshkigal, Impending Doom |
Yodarha | Swordfish, Tipper of Scales |
Zeta | Gae Bulg, Impaler of Ruin |
That’s a lot of grinding, which is why we recommend that you avoid grinding for materials for upgrades if you’re still in the Novice Skyfarer progression tier.
You’ll be showered with lots of materials and loot anyway once you’ve completed the Final Chapter. All in all, this should take you hundreds of hours after finishing Granblue Fantasy Relink.
