Besides the many dangers you might find in Nightingale, there are also a few puzzles you can solve, such as the Bastilles of Intellect. These small structures contain challenges that will test your memory and reward you with good buffs to help you explore these magical realms. So, if you want to take a break from culling the boar population of Nightingale, you should watch for these glowing structures and get the challenge going.

Bastilles of Intellect in Nightingale – Explained

Bastilles of Intellect are small buildings in Nightingale that house a simple puzzle. Chances are you’ve already found one of them in any of the realms you’ve visited. You can easily spot these places by the blue glow that emanates from the prisms around them. Even if these puzzles are optional, we recommend tackling them to obtain certain buffs in the game. To solve this challenge, here’s what you must do:

  1. Approach the Bastille of Intellect.
  2. Wait for the prisms to light up.
    • To solve this puzzle, you must memorize the order in which the prisms light up.
  3. After the sequence is over, the prisms will shine red, indicating you can press them now.
  4. Press each prism, and if you’re correct, the door behind the puzzle will open.

It isn’t the hardest puzzle in the game, and it is a good way to obtain an essence that’ll provide you with certain exploration bonuses.

Completing the Bastille of Intellect puzzle in Nightingale is actually worth it, especially in the early game. Once the doors of this structure open, you’ll get Hope Echoes or Favors. Of the latter, you can choose from Favor of Soaring, Endurance, or Power. Each of them provides a temporary bonus that can help you while exploring. However, we feel like finding Hope Echoes is much better, as you can find new crafting blueprints by interacting with them.

While not the hardest puzzle, you shouldn’t skip them as you explore the realms. It is a fast and useful way to unlock new things or get some buffs, so don’t ignore these structures and put your intellect to the test.
