All Monsters in Content Warning (& Their Weaknesses Explained)

Frightening monsters make for great content.

A bunch of astronaut-looking people go to the spookyland to create horror content, but do they know what monsters they’re about to face? Well, when Content Warning‘s frightening critters wriggle out of the woodwork, they’ll be scaring you silly. At least, only if you don’t know their weaknesses or bring some useful items. You can quit the game, or learn to dance with these hideous beasts.

The monsters in Content Warning don’t come with any official names, and there is no info on how to escape them. However, we’ve documented some that we’ve already encountered in the game, and after dying to some of them, found a way to dodge their attacks.

You want to bring the film back to the base with you, right? Then let’s review our info on all the currently known monsters in the Content Warning.

  • The Mixer: This is probably the first monster you’ll encounter in Content Warning. A robot-looking foe with a mixer on its head rams toward you. The best you can do is to dodge its very determined ramming route, and shout: Ole!
  • Tiny Eyes: This little monster isn’t that much of a big deal, just run away and you’ll escape it. Just don’t stay within close range when it’s around.
  • Star: This monster is usually found on the walls and ceilings. It looks like a starfish, and it’ll catch you if you stare at it. You can dodge it by running around, but if it manages to catch your friend, just throw an item at it by holding the Q key, aiming, and then releasing the button.
  • Oc Monster: This foe sucks players in with its tentacles, and the only way to escape it is by staying behind the walls. Running isn’t the best option when you’re too close to Content Warning‘s monsters. So if you have a Goo Ball or Shock Stick, feel free to use them.
  • Spider-Monster: Just like Spider-Man, Spider-Monster does whatever it can to catch you. Avoid the webs, and tell the cameraman to record the stuff as quickly as possible.
  • The Trap: As our made-up name says, it’s a trap. If you get caught with this one, your friends will have to solve an easy puzzle, and you’re free to go.
  • Blobby: Among all the Content Warning monsters, this one is the best for documenting some fun/horror content. It’s just a blob, moving around doing nothing.
  • Reaper: Taking its name from Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 & 4‘s Reaper specialist, this is a robot monster with a machine gun. There’s no way to fight back, so all you should do is stand back, record your stuff, and run away.
  • Shadow Hunter: After a few in-game days, when you jump back into the spookyland, you might hear a noise but not see anything. This is the most frightening foe among all the monsters in Content Warning. However, if you’ve got a flashlight, point it toward the monster, and it’ll retreat. It’s basically the same deal for those who’ve played Alan Wake.
  • Lil’ Blade: Ever met a tiny ghost that attacks you with a knife? Well, it gets pretty predictable attack-wise. Just let him attack one of your friends, dodge it, and record the content.
  • BigE: This monster ain’t got no eyes, but you can see its giant ear, hearing anything moving nearby. You can try walking at a distance from it, or crouch near it to record some HQ content.
  • Bite: If Bite sees you in a 10m radius, you’re dead. This big monster can chew you for breakfast with its razor-sharp teeth. The best you can do is to stand back and record the content from afar.

And that’s it for all the monsters in Content Warning. Remember, you can always toy with the monsters, and throw stuff at them with your friends. Just remember not to throw the camera or flashlight. You’ve been warned!

Content Warning is currently available to play on PC.
