Disney Dreamlight Valley is Taking Animal Crossing’s Mailbox

You’ve got mail!

The similarities between Disney Dreamlight Valley and Animal Crossing aren’t hard to spot. They’re both cute life-sim games where you take control of a customizable avatar and lead an idyllic life full of farming, fishing, foraging, and mining. The are still differences between the games of course, with the most major being the Disney theming and the level of interaction you get with your Animal Crossing villagers. That’s about to change as Disney Dreamlight Valley announces that update 10 will let your Disney villagers actually use their mailboxes.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Update 10 Adds New Mailbox Features

Don't forget to check your mailbox! 💌

Expect regular mail and gifts awaiting you in-game as of Update 10 from your favorite Valley Villagers.

Anyone who’s played Animal Crossing: New Horizons knows that your island’s mailbox is actually pretty important. It’s useful when sending things to other players, whether they’re on your island or their own via multiplayer, but you can also use it to send notes or gifts to your villagers. The mailbox also works in reverse, letting your villagers send you gifts, especially on your birthday.

Up until now, Disney Dreamlight Valley hasn’t had any of those features. While you have a mailbox, it’s only been used to receive rewards from redeem codes or real-world purchases. Now, however, Gameloft has announced that update 10 will let players receive notes and gifts from their favorite Dreamlight Valley Villagers, finally making the mailbox more useful in-game. Fans already seem psyched about the update, and audiences can’t wait to receive mail from characters like Elsa or Rapunzel.

The new Disney Dreamlight Valley update doesn’t have a set release date, but the game’s roadmap has previously promised update 10 in “early spring” followed by update 11 in “late spring”, so we might be seeing something soon.

In terms of other news, the game’s Lovely Monsters Star Path has just ended, and the developers have released a series of trailers for the new Star Path already. They’ve confirmed the new theme is “Peppy Popcorn Squirrel” – we’re not quite sure what that is, to be honest, but we’re definitely excited!
