Destiny 2: How Fireteam Power Works

Better late than never, I suppose.

Bungie’s been quite busy with the important, massive, and most importantly, efficient updates that have been announced for Destiny 2‘s release of The Final Shape. Not only have some impressive changes been made to the way players will experience Destiny 2 from now on, but there have also been amazing changes to include Fireteam Power, which will change the way Fireteams play together forever. Let’s take a look at what Fireteam Power is in Destiny 2 and what it does.

Destiny 2 Fireteam Power: What Is It and What Does It Do?

For the longest time–well, for all of Destiny 2, really, it’s been difficult to get a Fireteam together and head out to participate in any activities that require you to have a higher Power Level. Oftentimes, someone would be much too far ahead, or somebody would get entirely left in the dust. It hasn’t been ideal, and it’s made playing with your friends pretty difficult for these reasons. However, Bungie has a solution for us, in the form of Fireteam Power, that will roll out with the release of The Final Shape.

Fireteam Power was designed with the sole purpose of making it much easier for friends to play Destiny 2 together. Fireteam Power will allow one person within each Fireteam, the Power Leader, to set the bar for the power level of every other member of the Fireteam. Every other Fireteam member will have increased Power Levels that are raised up to 5 Power below the Power Leader. However, Fireteam Power only affects activity difficulty, and you will still receive rewards based on your unadjusted, original Power Level. While it won’t affect everything, it’s still a huge improvement from where it was before.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
